Pelosi Gives Comments About Trump During Larry O’Donnell Interview

June 14, 2024

Former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., took aim at former President Trump in a recent interview, calling him an “imposter” and urging for an intervention. Speaking with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, Pelosi didn’t hold back, asserting, “He knows he’s wacky. He knows he’s an imposter.”

Pelosi expressed her hope that Trump’s family or the Republican Party would intervene, suggesting that if they loved him beyond his resources, they should step in. She remarked on the necessity of an intervention for Trump, both from his family and his political allies.

The former president, meanwhile, was engaged in a series of meetings with Republicans on Thursday, discussing various issues including abortion and his ongoing legal challenges. Notably, some GOP senators mentioned a proposal to end taxes on servers’ tips, indicating Trump’s focus on economic issues as he campaigns for re-election.

Pelosi criticized these meetings, describing the Republican Party’s allegiance to Trump as a “cult to a thug” and calling it a tragedy. She also referred to Trump’s return to Capitol Hill as a visit “to the scene of the crime,” alluding to the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

Pelosi continued her nonses that people should never forget the events of January 6 to be forgotten or misrepresented. “We cannot let this be whitewashed,” she stressed during the interview. Trump’s response to the former speaker’s comments has been to shift blame for the riot back to her. In a 2023 interview, he claimed Pelosi was responsible for the security failures on January 6, stating, “Nancy Pelosi was in charge of security. She turned down 10,000 soldiers. If she didn’t turn down the soldiers, you wouldn’t have had Jan. 6.”

There’s even been a video of her suggesting that.

Pelosi also labeled Trump as a “master of projection,” accusing him of projecting his own shortcomings onto others. She pointed out that Trump’s criticisms of judges, witnesses, jurors, members of Congress, women, and electoral opponents often reflect his own failings.
