While many of the Republicans who questioned or denied President Biden’s 2020 election victory did win Tuesday night, according to The Washington Post most of those who ran for state-level Secretary of State positions did not.
In fact, the Post notes that in “virtually every state where they were on the ballot, their margins ran behind other Republicans on the ticket.”
This is significant because state-level Secretaries of State hold tremendous authority over elections and voting, and can potentially sow distrust in the results, if so inclined.
