Trump Fundraises Millions Following Indictment

April 3, 2023

Former President Trump has raised millions of dollars from thousands of supporters in the days following his indictment by a Manhattan grand jury.

The former President is set to arrive in New York City from Florida Monday, one day before he’s expected turn himself in for arraignment on reportedly more than 30 counts related to business fraud surrounding his role in hush money payments ahead of the 2016 Presidential election.

The grand jury indicted Trump on Thursday.

In the first 48 hours following reports of that indictment, the Trump’s 2024 reelection campaign raised more than $5 million—over $4 million of which was raised in the first 24 hours.

More than 25% of those donations came from first-time Trump donors.

Some 16,000 people signed up to become Trump campaign volunteers in that time period as well.

Meanwhile, a new CNN Poll has found that some 60% of Americans surveyed approve of the Manhattan grand jury’s indictment. That’s as roughly 3/4 of those surveyed said politics played at least some role in Trump’s indictment.
