DeSantis Uninjured After Multi-Vehicle Car Accident

July 25, 2023

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who’s running for President, was involved in a multi-vehicle car accident as he traveled in his motorcade, but is uninjured.

DeSantis was traveling to a campaign event in Tennessee when the accident occurred. Traffic had slowed down, causing four cars in the motorcade to hit each other, according to police in Chattanooga.

Representatives for the DeSantis campaign have declined to answer questions about who was driving the candidate or other details about the accident.

Spokesperson Andrew Romeo did say DeSantis would be continuing on to the event.

The Florida governor announced his candidacy on May 24. He’s currently one of at least 13 Republicans running for President next year.

DeSantis recently cut about a dozen campaign staffers amid concerns his campaign is burning through money as he continues to trail former President Trump in polls regarding the upcoming GOP primaries.
