Stormy Daniels Testifies During Trump Case

May 7, 2024

It was a big day in New York City as “actress” Stormy Daniels took the stand to testify in the criminal case against former President Trump.

The former president is being accused of giving Daniels $130,000 through his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to keep her quiet during the 2016 election.

Trump’s attorneys objected to the prosecution’s plans to go through the “full details” of alleged acts between former President Trump and Daniels. Judge Merchan sided (of course) with the prosecution. However, Merchan did warn the prosecutors to not get into “unnecessary details.”

Prosecutors did not listen and were warned by Merchan later during Daniels testimony.

Then Merchan paused the prosecutors after they went too far.

From Fox News:

Judge Juan Merchan told prosecutors that they were going into too much detail during questioning of adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

“The degree of detail we’re going into is unnecessary,” the judge told Manhattan prosecutor Susan Hoffinger Tuesday morning, and asked her to move things along.

Prior to the break, the prosecution asked Daniels to recount an alleged meeting with Trump at a Lake Tahoe hotel room. Then-real estate mogul Donald Trump allegedly asked Daniels to dinner after meeting her at a celebrity golf tournament in 2006.

After the egregious testimony, Trump’s defense attorney, Todd Blanche, motioned for a mistrial, which was denied by Merchan.

“I agree that it would have been better if some of these things had been left unsaid,” Merchan said.

Blanche added that the prosecution is trying to inflame the jury with Daniels’ testimony, adding “evidence” that “does not matter.”

The attorney also added that Daniels’ testimony is not “the story that she was selling in 2016.”

However, from the gate Blanche went right at her during cross examination.

What’s ironic about this trial is that Stormy owes Trump $120,000.

In April of 2023, the Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals ruled that Stormy Daniels must pay Trump $121,972 in legal fees for a failed lawsuit against the former president.
