Biden Speaks During Visit To NH

May 22, 2024

President Joe Biden’s public approval rating has dropped to its lowest level in nearly two years, matching the lowest point of his presidency, according to a Reuters/Ipsos report. The four-day study, which ended on Monday, found that only 36% of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance. This is a slight decrease from 38% in April. Although the drop is within the poll’s 3 percentage point margin of error, it is a concerning sign for Biden as he prepares for the upcoming presidential election against Republican Donald Trump on November 5.

Biden and Trump have been close in national polls, with Trump holding small leads in many key states that are likely to decide the election through the Electoral College. The report highlighted several areas where Biden is seen as weaker, but also pointed out some of his strengths.

The economy was identified as the top issue for 23% of respondents, making it the most significant concern facing the country. Political extremism was the second most important issue at 21%, followed by immigration at 13%.

When asked about policies, 40% of respondents said they believed Trump had better policies for the U.S. economy, compared to 30% who preferred Biden’s policies. The rest were unsure or did not answer. Trump also had a notable advantage on immigration, with 42% favoring his approach versus 25% for Biden.

On the issue of political extremism, Biden had a slight edge, with 34% of respondents supporting his approach compared to 30% for Trump. When it came to handling foreign conflicts and terrorism, 36% of respondents favored Trump, while 29% favored Biden.

Keep in mind that the report details the drop from April to May and that’s significant. Remember, the Biden campaign was conducting a campaign blitz, hoping to capitalize while Trump was stuck in court. This means that the guy went out on a bunch of campaign appearances, and it made his numbers even worse, and there is no basement to hide in this year.

Recently, Biden was in New Hampshire for a campaign visit, and one has to wonder if this is why there has been a dip.

And this was weird.
