Biden To Talk Economy With Union And Business Leaders

November 18, 2022

President Biden on Friday was set to meet with both union and business leaders to discuss the economy.

The White House said the meeting would take place both in-person and virtually, and would include the heads of the United Auto Workers (UAW), the Service Employees International, and the United Food and Commercial Workers unions. On the corporate side the CEOs of Ford Motor Co, Kaiser Permanente, and Carrier Global Corp would be in attendance.

The meeting was intended to get attendees’ perspectives on the economy “and ideas they have to continue bringing inflation down,” according to a White House official.

White House National Economic Council director Brian Deese and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen were also expected to take part in the discussion.
